The Adult Safeguarding Provider Team

The Adult Safeguarding Provider Team

The Adult Safeguarding Provider Team covers the whole locality of Cheshire East. The primary purpose of the team is to fulfil the statutory adult safeguarding responsibilities of the Local Authority, under S.42 of The Care Act 2014, for those safeguarding referrals involving a paid care provider.

Functions of the Service include:

  • Care Concerns - supporting the care concerns procedures by providing advice and support to both care providers and colleagues (both internal and external) and screening care concerns on a weekly basis;
  • Safeguarding Enquiries - triaging/responding to safeguarding referrals that are forwarded to the team via referral pathways and leading safeguarding enquiries that involve a paid care provider;
  • Organisational Safeguarding - Co-ordinating organisational safeguarding responses. Organisational Safeguarding procedures will be implemented where wider safeguarding concerns are raised about the safety of organisations operating within the Cheshire East Local Authority area in providing adult care services;
  • PREVENT referrals - providing a first response to PREVENT referrals through consideration of safeguarding procedures.
